First day off since 9th October- I've travelled between South Devon and Aberdeen, driven hundreds of miles, played thousands and thousands of notes, had superb audiences, met some fantastic people and had some of the best memories of my whole career... repertoire including Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Messiaen, Beach, Alwyn, Szymanowski, Arvo Pårt, Rawsthorne, Roxanna Panufnik, Ysäye, Bartok, and Albeniz with John Lenehan, Bartholomew LaFollette and Sam Gillespie . I had the huge joy of giving my 2nd full evening recital with Andrey Gugnin where music-making just doesn't get any more exciting than what we achieved in the Kreutzer Sonata. Anyone who wants to witness his artistry needs to get themselves to the Festival Hall on 17th January and hear his Rachmaninov 3rd concerto with LPO. Oh, and, yes, there were sheep and dinosaurs to play with!!! Lucky, lucky me
