It is racist if you talk about Obama being African and therefore unable to perform his tasks as president of the USA, for example. There is nothing African about Obama other than his skin colour; he was born and raised as an American. The same way I don't believe it is fair to make assumptions about George Li's musical training, understanding and sensibilities based on his skin colour.
